LoRaWan Solutions

Our growing Sentrius™ LPWAN ecosystem of long-range IoT solutions leverages years of RF expertise to enable secure, low-power, long-range Internet of Things (IoT) sensor deployment easily using LoRaWAN technology. The LoRaWAN protocol targets key IoT requirements such as bi-directional communication, end-to-end security, mobility, and localization services.

Our portfolio of LoRaWAN sensors and gateways delivers high performance with unparalleled design flexibility. These innovative solutions enable simple out-of-the-box integration and provide everything needed to create a complete end-to-end IoT network. Wirelessly connect battery operated wireless devices to the internet in regional, national, or global networks.

Our portfolio of innovative solutions gives developers flexibility and freedom to create everything from a single standalone node to a complete end-to-end IoT network that balances throughput and range while using minimal power. Develop a fully-owned private LoRa network to capture, route, and process IoT data for your application.

LPWAN technologies can be thought of in terms of three primary characteristics: power consumption, range and cost. LPWAN is meant to provide connectivity over long ranges utilizing minimal power, but figures vary among competing solutions. LoRa® Class A nodes like the RM1xx and RS1xx achieve either a maximum range (Up to 15 km, around 10 miles), a maximum data rate (~21.9 kbps) or a balance of each as is required by the application. Likewise, when compared to LTE-M cellular solutions, LoRaWAN provides the same or greater range at a lower price point.

LoRaWAN employs a scheme of device, application, and network security keys to authenticate end nodes and secure their traffic. This three-level approach ensures that only trusted devices can interface with your device. The end result is public and private networks with heightened intelligence and the ability to screen and authorize just the nodes you want to participate on your network.

Where other competing solutions require you connect through existing gateways maintained by carriers for a fee, LoRa® uniquely allows you to connect to either an open (public) network or to your own closed (private) network. Owning the complete infrastructure means not relying on a provider to continue supporting your LPWAN offering, eliminating monthly subscription costs, and total end-to-end data control.

To further their competitive advantage, Fractal Technologies wanted to enable wireless monitoring on buildings, bridges, and other man made structures in real time for miles around. They needed a business partner with a broad array of wireless expertise to help them develop a sophisticated monitoring network, providing their customers with actionable intelligence to enable just-in-time maintenance and prevent disasters.

Fractal Technologies created a structural health monitoring system powered by our line of LoRaWAN modules and gateways.
