Gmm-u5LP has 66 channels of satellite searching and is ultra sensitive at under -165dBm, plus 10Hz maximum update rate for precise GPS signal processing, even under difficult conditions.

Global Top Technology introduces Gmm-u5LP, the newest addition in its cost friendly range of GPS modules targeted towards industrial and telematics applications. Gmm-u5LP is a low power, high sensitive GPS module which incorporates the GlobalTop new smart antenna supervisor system, "Antenna Advisor", that can detects and notifies a user on the various states of the antenna.

"Antenna Advisor" enables the GPS module to detect and notify external active antenna connection, open circuit and short circuit conditions using hardware pin-out and unique software protocol. It also features antenna short circuit protection to safeguard the module from being damaged by short circuiting at the external antenna I/O end. "Antenna Advisor" is very easy to implement and requires only a single additional resistor.

The Gmm-u5LP also reduces the overall power consumption of a standard GPS module by over 30% when compared to the previous generation through a new switching mode power supply. With a miniscule 24mA when tracking and 30mA during acquisition, Gmm-u5LP is perfect for mobile devices and telematics applications.

Firmware customization are also available to Gmm-u5LP users which include geofencing, binary output mode, distance calculation and many more that help to enhance the overall system efficiency and shortens development time.

Gmm-u5LP represents the best GPS module GlobalTop and MediaTek has to offer using the latest MT3329 GPS chipset. With support up to 66 channels of satellite searching under -165dBm sensitivity, plus 10Hz maximum update rate for precise GPS signal processing under low receptive conditions.
