LARA-R3121 - Size-optimised LTE Cat 1 single-mode module with GNSS receiver

u-blox single mode LTE Cat 1 modem module with integrated GNSS receiver to deliver high performance satellite positioning alongside data connectivity.

The LARA-R3121 LTE module comes in a small LGA package, making it easy to integrate in compact designs. It is optimised for low latency applications using LTE networks where high data rates are not a pre-requisite.

By integrating u-blox's leading GNSS technology (based on the u-blox 8 platform), LARA-R3121 modules are able to deliver high performance satellite positioning alongside data connectivity. The modules support CellLocate®, the u-blox hybrid GNSS and cellular solution for indoor positioning.

Based on u-blox's innovative Software Defined Modem (SDM) engine, LARA-R3121 offers an advanced 3GPP Release 12 feature set and support for LTE Category 1. With a range of interface options and an integrated IP stack, the modules are designed to support a wide range of data-centric applications. The unique combination of performance and flexibility make these modules ideally suited to applications requiring low data rates.

The LARA-R3121 series modules are perfectly suited for use in industrial (M2M) applications, such as remote access video cameras, digital signage, telehealth, security and surveillance systems. To ensure the integrity and authenticity of customer data they offer a range of security features.

LARA-R3121 modules operate in a temperature range of -40 to +85 °C, making them well suited to devices intended for out-door operation and harsh environments.

The LARA form factor enables straightforward migration from ublox SARA (GSM and UMTS), LISA (UMTS and CDMA) and TOBY (LTE) modules.  The module is fully certified for multiple networks. USB drivers and RIL software for Android and Microsoft are available free of charge. Linux is also supported.
