C26-G26Q - u-blox GPS and GPRS/GSM Reference Design Solution with On-board SMT Antennas and SIM card holder

The u-blox C26-G26Q GSM/GPS reference design demonstrates the integration of u-blox' NEO-6Q GPS receiver with their LEON-G200 GPRS/GSM module. This complete integrated solution on a single board offers designers a quick route to market and is ideally suited for telematics applications such as fleet management, asset tracking, road pricing, and security/surveillance.

This 100% SMD solution uses surface mount (SMT) passive GPS and GSM antennas and a SIM card holder (on reverse of PCB, SIM card not included), plus SIM chip footprint.

The reference design supports full access to the NEO-6Q GPS module via the LEON-G200 GPRS/GSM module. Thus GSM and GPS can be controlled through a single serial port from any host processor. The LEON-G200 module features Quad Band GSM/GPRS data, voice and class 10 data transmission.

Differences to the C16-G26Q:

• Larger PCB area (85 x 55mm)
• Connector available for external active antenna (IPEX MHFI/U.FL)
• Allows connectivity to Microchip Multimedia Expansion Board

Powered by the 50-channel u-blox 6 positioning engine, the module boasts a Time-To-First-Fix of under 1 second. The dedicated acquisition engine, with over 1 million correlators, is capable of massive parallel time/frequency space searches, enabling it to find satellites instantly. Innovative design and technology suppresses jamming sources and mitigates multipath effects, giving u-blox 6 GPS receivers excellent navigation performance even in the most challenging environments.
