MatchPort b/g Pro adds enhanced performance and
functionality to the MatchPort family of pin and form-factor
compatible wireless and wired module solutions, and uses the
Lantronix Evolution® operating system, the successor to the CoBos
OS used by the MatchPort b/g. The MatchPort family enables you to
"future proof" your designs with a choice of flexible
media-independent 802.11 b/g or Ethernet networking products. It
takes the complexity out of RF design and embedded Ethernet
networking, enabling you to focus on your products. The flexibility
of MatchPort allows you to minimize engineering risk,
reduce cost and shorten your development cycle.
Complete Wireless Network
Processing Module
MatchPort b/g Pro is a dedicated co-processor module
that manages wireless and network activity, permitting the device's
host microprocessor to function at maximum efficiency. Using a dual
processor design (one for converting wired serial data into TCP/IP
packets and providing web server capabilities, the other an 802.11
b/g baseband and radio chipset) MatchPort b/g enables 802.11
wireless connectivity and web services on any device with a serial
interface on its host microcontroller. Powered by a Lantronix
32-bit processor, (166Mhz & 159 MIPS - Dhrystone 2.1)
with 8 MB of on-chip SDRAM, MatchPort b/g Pro also
includes 8MB of Flash memory for web page storage and firmware.

Featuring the
Lantronix Evolution OS® operating system, MatchPort's integrated
CGI-capable web server transforms a standalone device into a
networked product that can be managed remotely via a standard web
browser. CGI capability enables users to remotely monitor and
collect information from the device in real-time and send the
information to dynamic web pages. AJAX technology ensures smooth
browsing of dynamic content served from the edge device.
Additionally, MatchPort b/g Pro supports open standards such as
"Cisco-like" CLI, XML and serial and Telnet management options.
Flexible, Efficient Design
Designed without an attached antenna, MatchPort b/g
Pro provides the flexibility to design and place the antenna
and antenna connector based on your design requirements. MatchPort
b/g Pro includes a user controlled intelligent power
management option to shut the radio off during periods of
inactivity minimizing unnecessary current consumption.
With a separate Ethernet port, MatchPort b/g offers the unique
ability to transparently bridge existing Ethernet-ready devices to
a wireless network

The kit contains the key accessories to evaluate a
MatchPort product and includes:

The MatchPort kit includes all software necessary to develop
custom applications. PC software is included to connect and
configure your device to a PC. The CD contains configuration
utilities and Virtual COM Port software to allow engineers to
migrate an existing serial design in no time at all.
