The leading-edge thin-film THINERGY® Micro-Energy
Cells (MECs) developed by Infinite Power are solid-state,
rechargeable, energy storage solutions that serve a variety of
vertical markets. The paper-thin (0.170mm) MECs are flexible and
provide unrivaled cycle life and power performance. Operating
in a wide temperature range, from -40ºC to +85ºC, the
ultra-thin MECs offer extremely low self discharge rates, low cell
resistance and high power, making THINERGY® the
industry-leading micro-energy storage offering.
THINERGY® Micro-Energy Cells are ideally suited for
use with all forms of ambient energy harvesting techniques for
recharging, such as solar, thermal, RF, magnetic and vibration
energy, delivering a safe, reusable and clean power source for
today's electronic devices and systems.
The MEC is offered in a unique, patented package design that
maximizes the active area of the cell and minimizes the device
footprint to deliver the highest energy and power density of any
energy storage element of its size. External terminals in the form
of positive and negative nickel-plated tabs are located along the
top edge of the cell for easy soldering to printed circuit boards
(PCBs).

The IPS-EVAL-EH-01 Energy Harvesting Evaluation
Kit is ideal for developing and evaluating various
energy harvesting solutions for self-powered applications.

This kit incorporates a THINERGY® MEC201-7S (0.7 mAh capacity)
device, the Maxim MAX17710 Energy Harvesting Power Management IC
(PMIC) and an amorphous silicon solar panel from Sanyo/Amorton.
This kit will also connect to any external (user provided) energy
harvester up to 150 mW.
The IPS-EVAL-EH-02 Wireless Environmental Sensor
Energy Harvesting Evaluation Kit demonstrates wireless
indoor environmental sensing, energy harvesting, energy storage and
power regulation for the development of autonomously powered
wireless sensor systems. Harvested energy is efficiently stored in
the integrated THINERGY® MEC201 Micro-Energy Cell (MEC), the ideal
energy storage device enabling deeply embedded applications.

The ADP-201 Application Development
Platform provides a simple method to charge,
discharge, and monitor THINERGY MECs during device evaluation and
system integration. The built-in demo mode provides pre-defined
loads (constant resistance, constant current, pulsed current and
standard LED load) to discharge the battery while displaying the
time, approximate state of charge (fuel gauge), discharge
voltage/current, while protecting the cell from over voltage or
under voltage conditions.

In addition, the ADP-201 serves as a development platform to
allow users to develop their own applications on a separate
breadboard that can be connected to the "Sentry" inputs, powering
the application from the MEC while being monitored by the ADP-201.
