The GS1500M EVK Mrk II Evaluation Kit provides all the hardware and software necessary to quickly set up a serial (UART or SPI) based link to a PC or external microcontroller. In order to evaluate the ease of adding secure Wi-Fi communications to a product using the GainSpan AT command set, the kit includes all the software tools necessary for configuration of Serial-to-Wi-Fi and GS1500M module, data transfer using the AT command set and protocol analyzer for validation of packet and frame fields.

Engineers can use the evaluation kit to develop software on their existing microcontroller to support the AT command set, and connect it to either the UART or SPI interface on the evaluation kit reference board.

Evaluation Kit Contents:
  • One evaluation board with GS1500M module with a serial to Wi-Fi application
  • Two 1.5V AA lithium batteries
  • One USB-to-serial cable for node provisioning and configuration via PC
  • One pre-configured 802.11b/g Access point
  • One USB memory stick containing GainSpan software and documentation

  • 1 x USB memory stick with software and documentation

* Version 2.2 module hardware is suitable for all released GainSpan Firmware versions, but versions GEPS 3.4.1 onwards will require external flash to be designed into the application.
