FT120 - Full speed USB device controller with parallel bus IC

The FT120 is a USB full speed device controller, designed to communicate with a micro-controller over the generic parallel interface. The FT120T (28 pin TSSOP package) can be used in designs currently using the legacy PDIUSBD12 device.

The FT120 provides a cost and feature optimized USB full-speed device controller. The design closely matches the PDIUSBD12 and may be used as a drop in replacement for the device. Communicating with a micro-controller over the generic parallel interface the device will appear as another memory device on the processor bus, offering USB connectivity with bulk, isochronous or interrupt endpoints.

The FTDI UMFT12 Evaluation Kit provides a complete evaluation and prototyping platform for FT12 series devices. The UMFT12XEV contains an LPC1114 controller to host the FT12X daughter card to enable testing of firmware for the FT12 series devices. Each device (FT120, FT121, and FT122) has a separate daughter card to plug in to the UMFT12XEV and a mini-B USB connector for attaching to external USB host controllers.
