LEA-5Q u-blox 5 ROM-based GPS Module
The LEA-5Q is a high performance GPS receiver module featuring u-blox' KickStart weak signal acquisition technology. The module comes in a compact and thin 17 x 22.4 x 2.4 mm package with numerous connectivity options including an SPI interface. The LEA-5Q's ultra-fast acquisition performance makes it ideal for mass market mobile devices with high performance needs.

u-blox KickStart provides accelerated startup at weak signals, and our featured SuperSense® Indoor GPS is capable of tracking and acquiring even extremely weak signals. This makes the LEA-5Q suitable for solutions using small or covert antennas.

The module's architecture further ensures costs are kept at a minimum by replacing a costly Flash EPROM by an internal Read-Only Memory (ROM) in the GPS baseband chip.

Powered by the 50-channel u-blox 5 positioning engine, the module boasts a Time-To-First-Fix of under 1 second. The dedicated acquisition engine, with over 1 million correlators, is capable of massive parallel time/frequency space searches, enabling it to find satellites instantly. Innovative design and technology suppresses jamming sources and mitigates multipath effects, giving u-blox 5 GPS receivers excellent navigation performance even in the most challenging environments.
