The LEA-5M is a highly cost-effective stand-alone GPS receiver module, which offers numerous connectivity options in a thin 17 x 22.4 x 2.4 mm package. The LEA-5M provides lower power consumption and lower cost than the LEA-5Q. The LEA-5M features u-blox' SuperSense® Indoor GPS technology that offers unmatched tracking performance in harsh signal environments such as parking lots and dense urban environments. The module's architecture further ensures costs are kept at a minimum by using a crystal instead of a TCXO and replacing a costly Flash EPROM by an internal Read-Only Memory (ROM) in the GPS baseband chip. Powered by the 50-channel u-blox 5 positioning engine, the module boasts a Time-To-First-Fix of under 1 second. The dedicated acquisition engine, with over 1 million correlators, is capable of massive parallel time/frequency space searches, enabling it to find satellites instantly. Innovative design and technology suppresses jamming sources and mitigates multipath effects, giving u-blox 5 GPS receivers excellent navigation performance even in the most challenging environments.
