PA25 PIFA Dielectric Antenna

The Taoglas PA-25 is the first hexaband surface mount antenna (SMT) that delivers efficiency of over 50% on all bands in a design that is significantly smaller than current market designs.

This multi-band cellular antenna covers all worldwide cellular bands including 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1800 / 1900 and 2100Mhz for GSM, CDMA, DCS, PCS, WCDMA, UMTS, HSDPA, GPRS and EDGE. The PA-25 is unique in the market for the combination of over 50% efficiency on all bands, coupled with a more reliable connection allowing for better reception, transmission, sensitivity and power consumption.

The PA-25, has many advantages over existing technologies in the market and a key benefit is that the antenna is delivered on tape and reel so can be used on surface mount machines helping to save assembly costs and delivering greater performance consistency. Measuring just 36mm x 6mm x 5mm, the PA25 has one of the highest efficiencies for this type of small-scale multiband antenna enabling customers to achieve greater device performance and sensitivity in areas of low signal, and a consistent reliable connection to all cellular networks. Added to this, the PA-25 is made of high-grade ceramic and is extremely robust and durable for use in extreme environments such as the automotive industry.

Another key advantage in using this type of antenna is that the PA-25 is resistant to detuning compared to metal, FR4 or FPC type solutution, and with its rectangular shape, this antenna is easy to integrate into existing designs.

Development Kits

It takes time to choose and evaluate the right embedded antenna for an application. Taoglas’ advanced dielectric PIFA antennas can be designed into a range of products and the best way to evaluate the PA25 is to purchase a development kit (PAD-25). 

The kit includes an Evaluation Board as reference ground plane with an onboard embedded PA25 antenna plus 5 additional antennas.

The frequency can be changed according to your requirements.

Antenna and RF design can be difficult at the best of times and, if not tuned correctly, can dramatically affect the performance of your product. Taoglas have extensive experience in designing and testing RF solutions and can help your engineers to get the best possible performance at all times.

Our service offers customers the opportunity to have their products tested at the Taoglas test lab where the antenna's can be fine tuned to exactly suit your products requirements ensuring the best match and performance for your application.

This work normally takes around 3 to 4 weeks and a full report is also supplied.
