73K224BL Teridian Semiconductor's V.22bis Modem Data Pump IC

Teridian Semiconductor's 73K224BL is ideal for use in embedded applications where full-duplex 2400 bit/s data communications over the 2-wire switched telephone network is required. TDK's 73K224BL device has all of the features of the 73K224L device but also includes on chip 2-wire/4-wire hybrid driver and off-hook relay buffer drivers.

This device supports V.22bis, V.22 and V.21 modes of operation, allowing both synchronous and asynchronous communications. Test features such as analog loop, digital loop, and remote digital loop-back are supported. Internal pattern generators are also included for self-testing.

The 73K224BL is designed to appear to the systems designer as a microprocessor peripheral, and will easily interface with popular microprocessors such as 80C51 for control of modem functions.

Alpha Micro have developed the AMC2442CV micro controller which has been optimised to work with Teridian Semiconductor's 73K-Series modem devices.
