This ready-to-use solution is built on the same time-tested and market-proven technology offered in the successful XPort. It includes all the necessary networking hardware and standards-compliant software for situations where advanced web services are not required.

With its low cost and powerful functionality, XPort® Direct is ideal for high-volume product deployments where low-cost, limited functionality microcontrollers traditionally create a barrier to network-enablement. 

Using the virtual Com Port software can mean that your existing software application remains untouched.

Based on the Lantronix DSTni chipset and their extensive TCP/IP stack, XPort® Direct provides a 10/100Mbit/sec auto sensing LAN port and a 230Kbit/sec serial UART back connection.

With very little effort, minimal development time and at a fraction of the time required to develop an in-house solution, OEMs can add full Ethernet connectivity to their products so they can be managed over a network or the Internet.  This fixed function module allows designers to take existing and new designs onto Ethernet without the hassle, whilst also providing some custom options for the experienced developer.

Comprehensive Development Support

An evaluation kit is available and represents the best way to understand the vast ability of this device.

The kit comprises an Eval board with an XPort® Direct, Power Supply Unit (PSU), cables and a CDROM. The CD contains configuration utilities and Virtual COM Port software to allow engineers to migrate an existing serial design in no time at all.
