XPort Embedded Device Server in an RJ-45 Footprint

XPort® is a Serial to Ethernet module, slotting into any design which already has an RS232 port.

As well as relieving the designer of the TCP/IP effort, XPort gives you a 384KByte Web Server and configuarble email alerts. Using the virtual Com Port software can mean that your existing software application remains untouched.

Based on the Lantronix DSTni chipset and their extensive TCP/IP stack, XPort® provides a 10/100Mbit/sec auto sensing LAN port and a 920Kbit/sec serial UART back connection.

With very little effort, minimal development time and at a fraction of the time required to develop an in-house solution, OEMs can add full Ethernet connectivity to their products so they can be managed over a network or the Internet.  This fixed function module allows designers to take existing and new designs onto Ethernet without the hassle, whilst also providing some custom options for the experienced developer.

Comprehensive Development Support

An evaluation kit is available and represents the best way to understand the vast ability of this device. The kit comprises an Eval board with an XPort® fitted, Power Supply Unit (PSU), cables and a CDROM. The CD contains configuration utilities and Virtual COM Port software to allow engineers to migrate an existing serial design in no time at all.
