| WiBox Dual Port Wireless Device Server |
 |
WiBox™ is a two-port device server that lets you connect serial devices to 802.11b wireless networks, quickly and easily.
The new WiBox™ delivers support for the latest generation 802.11 standards and adds wired Ethernet connectivity for more complete configuration flexibility when in the field. Specialised features offer additional options and ease of configuration, making serial or Ethernet device connectivity possible in just minutes regardless of the application.
The new enhanced dual-port WiBox™ now provides 802.11 b/g wireless capabilities for higher bandwidth and superior data throughput performance. The WiBox™ also provides a unique bridging capability which allows an Ethernet device to be connected to an 802.11 wireless network. This provides connectivity options for greater flexibility when dealing with a mixed (Ethernet or serial) device environment in a single solution. In addition, the new WiBox™ is industrial-grade (wide temperature range and robust), making wireless communications possible in harsh outdoor or factory environments. By merging wireless communications and Lantronix device server technology, the WiBox simplifies connectivity to devices where cabling is prohibited or mobility is required.
Equipped with 2 DB9 connectors WiBox™ provides 1 channel of RS232 with handshaking and a second channel of RS232/422/485, again with handshaking. Both ports are good for 920Kbps which should cater for any embedded application. On the RF side, a swivel mount 157mm antenna is supplied. WiBox™ also has greater security features with WEP, WPA adn 256-bit AES encryption providing end-to-end data protection.
WiBox™ can be used for integration onto an existing Wireless LAN or for point to point arrangement with another embedded Wi-fi device.
Replaces the Lantronix MSS-VIA for many applications requiring Wi-fi to serial formats.
